How should I apply Tinted Mineral Dayscreen? Can you apply it with your fingers like a regular SPF?

You definitely can use your fingers. But we have some pro tips for the perfect Tinted Mineral Dayscreen finish.

If you’re in a rush, your fingers work perfectly—you’ll still be able to achieve a smooth-looking even finish. This silky formula was designed to spread evenly without feeling too thick, making it easy to grab and go without fuss.

Want an even more seamless finish? A damp makeup sponge gives the most natural, skin-like blend while lightly diffusing that buildable coverage. A dense foundation brush builds slightly more coverage and leaves an airbrushed finish effect.

One of our favorite tricks is applying several thin layers of Tinted Mineral Dayscreen instead of one thick layer if you’re trying to achieve the medium end of light-to-medium coverage.

Don’t forget that this is still sunscreen, and your skin needs UV protection. Apply Tinted Mineral Dayscreen SPF 30 as the last step of your morning skincare routine, then reapply it (or another favorite BOJ SPF) every two hours!

Do I need to set Tinted Mineral Dayscreen with powder? Is it greasy?

Tinted Mineral Dayscreen was designed to leave a fresh, natural finish—not greasy, sticky, or overly dewy. If you have normal to dry skin, you likely won’t need to apply powder at all to keep a fresh, non-greasy finish.

If you’re especially oily or have combination skin, dust a little of your favorite finishing powder through your T-zone or anywhere you tend to get shiny throughout the day. That’s usually all you need.

Your skincare prep also makes a difference in what you see. Oily skin types may prefer lightweight, balancing layers, like Glow Replenishing Rice Milk, followed by Pore Firming Serum. Drier skin types can layer Tinted Mineral Dayscreen over our deeply hydrating Dynasty Cream.

Does every shade of Tinted Mineral Dayscreen have the same SPF rating?

We checked in with our product development team to make sure. Put your lab coat on for just a second.

All 15 shades of Tinted Mineral Dayscreen use the same SPF filter (zinc oxide) at the same concentration. Only the pigments vary to create different shades. In the US, tinted SPFs are tested on select shades across the range (typically the lightest shade, one middle shade, and the darkest shade). The lowest SPF result from those tests is then applied to the entire shade range, ensuring that every shade meets or exceeds the labeled SPF value. For example, if the lightest shade tests as SPF 30 but the middle shade shows SPF 40, the entire range is still labeled as SPF 30.
