Is Our Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen the Same
in the US and UK?
You asked, we’re answering.
Since we launched our Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen, our team has been keeping an eye on all of your feedback, reviews, and frequently asked questions. And a lot of you have been asking why this best-selling formula shows different SPF labels in different countries. So, we’re sitting down to explain it in detail. Below, everything you need to know about how we lab-test and label DTFS in each market.
Are the US and UK versions of Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen different?
The short answer: no. They’re exactly the same formula. So why does the bottle of DTFS you picked up in London say SPF 30 on the front, while the one you unboxed in LA shows SPF 40?
What’s different isn’t the formula; it’s the labeling, which changes based on the local regulatory requirements of each market.

Why does the SPF label change based on where it’s sold?
The US version of Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen is labeled SPF 40, while the UK version is labeled SPF 30. That difference doesn’t mean you’re getting less protection! It’s simply a matter of how SPF is regulated and reported in different countries.
In the UK, any SPF result that falls between SPF 30 and SPF 50 must legally be labeled as SPF 30. So even though our Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen tests higher, it must be labeled as SPF 30 to comply with UK regulations.
What does the SPF testing process look like?
Our SPF testing is conducted in third-party labs that adhere to each region’s specific regulatory standards.
- US: Follows FDA Monograph and Broad Spectrum guidelines
- EU: SPF(ISO 24444, In-vivo), UVAPF(ISO 24442, In-vivo)
*In-vivo refers to human clinical trials
For our Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen formula, here’s the full breakdown of our SPF testing results in three different labs in South Korea and Spain:
- Lab 1(US FDA standard)
- LP100 : SPF 45.3 ± 6.8 / Broad Spectrum - Lab 2(ISO 24444 and ISO 24442 standard)
- LP100 : SPF 36.3 / UVAPF 11.5 - Lab 3(ISO 24444 and ISO 24442 standard)
- LP100 : SPF 51.6 ± 8.2 / PFA 14.6 ± 3.3
- MY200 : SPF 59.7 ± 8.9 / PFA 11.5 ± 2.1
- DN350 : SPF 55.4 ± 6.2 / PFA 10.9 ± 2.6
Bottom line? Whether you’re shopping in London or LA, you’re getting the same lightweight, comfortable wear packed with nourishing skincare ingredients, blendable tint, and seamless sun protection. The SPF number may differ on the label, but the formula you know and love remains the same.
